Create database
You can create database files from your own multi-FASTA data. FASTA data format is defined here and multi-FASTA data format is defined here.
On the Tools menu, click Create DB. The Create DB window opens.
Clicking "Select FASTA File" button will open File Open dialog. Select multi-FASTA file and click "Open" button.
Selected FASTA file name is shown in the "DB Name" field. Change it if necessary.
Several optional parameters can be specified. Usually these options do not have to be used.
DB Title: Adds custom title to the database.
Indexing:If input FASTA file has NCBI styled deflines, turn it ON. Default value is OFF. It is identical to "-o T" formatdb option.
Advanced Options: formatdb options can be directly specified here. Please use this option only if you know what you are doing.
Clicking "Create DB" button creates database. When database is created, "Database is created" message will be shown.
"Cancel" button will close Create DB window.
