BlastStation-Free is a Free Edition of BlastStation2.  BlastStation-Free has all features of BlastStation2, such as NCBI-Blast search using the EBI server,  WU-Blast2 search using the EBI server, and Standalone BLAST search on your PC with some limitations.

• Standalone BLAST search with NCBI BLAST 2.2.20 on your PC.
• High performance standalone BLAST search using automatically detected available multi cores on your PC.
• Easy database download from NCBI ftp server to your PC.
• Easy database creation from your FASTA file.
• Easy management of BLAST search parameters, FASTA data and search results.
• Graphical display of search results.
• Summary table display of search results.
• Export summary table in CSV format.
• Export search results sequences in FASTA format.

Limitations

• Up to 5 FASTA data submission in one BlastStation job.
• Available programs are blastn, blastp, and blastx.^*)
• Local database input file size is limited to 25 MB.^*)
• One core is used for local blast search.^*)
• No support.
• Use behaviors will be collected and will be used for future improvements.
